Different Sets have been built in the Hoyo de Manzanares Area especially for Spaghetti Western productions. The Main Set was a Western Town ("Golden City") built by the spanish Set Decorators Jaime Perez Cubero and Jose Luis Galicia.
A little Fort was built as well as different Ranchos and in 1968 Cubero and Galicia imitated the Main Street of the american Town Chicago for an Italo-Hispano Gangster movie with a wonderful and huge Set in Hoyo de Manzanares.

Photo of the first model Cubero and Galicia assembled to show the producers their idea of a permanent Western Town in Hoyo de Manzanares.
You can see a Main Street and a central building at the end of it ("Saloon").
Two elementary parts of the Western Town concept and pretty close to the Western Town ("Golden City") we later see in so many Spaghetti Western.

For the Julio Diamante Gangster Flick "Tiempos de Chicago" (1968) the Set Decorators Jaime Perez Cubero and Jose Luis Galicia built a huge Town Set representing the Town of Chicago. This Chicago Set consists of a close to 100 meter long and completely asphalted Main Street and a few indicated side-streets. The blocks of buildings
on the left and right look very good but these blocks are just stable facades of bricks (bottom) and wood. A great Set!
A german DVD Release of this movie will be available soon.

"Cubero y Galicia" are 2 heavies among spanish Set Decorators!
They have been responsible for many excellent Sets all over Spain.
